Monday, July 15
Pocketful of Poems Caldecott Medal recipient Javaka Steptoe will talk about poems – specifically haiku. Learn the science behind poetry as it relates to the seasons, how butterflies are created and more. 11 a.m. to noon. Braodview Branch Library, Seattle.
Later tonight, hear Steptoe read from his children’s book and discuss his journey as a writer and illustrator. Free books will be available while supplies last. 6 p.m. Africatown Center, Seattle.
