Tuesday, May 23

Loyal Heights Toddler Gym Kids ages 5 and younger can enjoy push carts, bicycles, and other toys inside the gymnasiums of community centers all over Seattle. 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Loyal Heights Community Center (Loyal Heights).

University Book Store Storytime Kids can enjoy dramatic readings of stories new and old along with hands-on activities catered to the audience.  11 a.m. to noon. University Bookstore (University District).

 

Thursday, May 25

Tugboat Storytime Listen to stories about boats and the sea aboard the Arthur Foss, a 100-year-old tugboat. After stories, there is time to explore the boat. 11 a.m. to noon. Center for Wooden Boats (South Lake Union).

Tinkerlab Kids of all ages can enjoy hands-on STEM (Science Technologoy Engineering Math) crafts and challenges. Seattle Public Library – High Point Branch (West Seattle).

 

Friday, May 26

Ballard Tot Shabbat Toddlers and parents are invited to celebrate the Jewish Sabbath every Friday morning with songs and challah.  Open to everyone. 10:15 to 11 a.m. Secret Garden Books (Ballard).

 

Saturday, May 27

Right-Side Writers Young writers (grades 3 to 5) will learn the basics of creative writing and poetry in this workshop led by high school volunteers. Pre-register. Seattle Public Library – Magnolia Branch (Magnolia).

 

Sunday, May 28

Family Weekend Walks Enjoy a 90-minute walk exploring Washington Park Arboretum along with kids’ activities. This month’s theme is “Wonderful Wetlands.” 1 to 2:30 p.m. Washington Park Arboretum (Montlake).

Boeing Employees Concert Band Enjoy lively marches, show tunes and classics in this outdoor concert, part of the Hiram M. Chittenden Locks summer concert series. 2 p.m. Hiram M. Chittenden Locks (Ballard).

Sunday Public Sail Each Sunday, the Center for Wooden Boats offers 45-minute rides on Lake Union. Set sail in your choice of a classic boat.
