April Pools Day: Free swimming and water safety talks

 

Time to dig out those swimsuits. Swimming, fishing and boating season will be here before we know it. To help your family prepare for a fun and safe summer, more than 40 facilities across Washington state are hosting April Pools Day – an event to brush up on water safety tips and swim for free.

Safety topics include:

  • preventing open water drowning
  • Life jacket use
  • Cold water awareness
  • Basic water rescue for children

April Pool’s Day events are held at various times and locations, April 13-20. Seattle Parks & Recreation has the schedule.
