Game On! Highlands Day

Calling gamers of all ages: Come play classic arcade games and pinball machines, video games, virtual reality experiences, and interactive game shows during a fun afternoon at Grand Ridge Plaza

 

Free Summer Concerts at Ballard Locks

Sat., Aug. 24, 2 to 3 p.m.

BYO blanket and picnic and enjoy free outdoor concerts at the Ballard Locks this weekend. The Lynwood Community Band, a big band ensemble, will be playing on Saturday and The Tempos, a swing band playing 30’s, 40’s, and early 50’s, will be playing on Sunday. All performances begin at 2 p.m.

 

Evan’s Family Variety Show

Kids to grandparents will love this free variety show located in University Heights featuring magician Elliott Hunter, the Alchemy Tap Project, and juggler Audrey Greaves plus other amazing guests. Donations appreciated.

 

Steamship Saturdays

Sat., Aug, 24, 1 and 3 p.m.

Virginia V
South Lake Union, Seattle

Join the crew of the 125’ Virginia V for a one-hour narrated cruise on Lake Union. Learn about the sights, sounds, and history of Lake Union while cruising aboard this National Historic Landmark vessel with a fully operational steam engine. Cruises are one hour long and concessions will be available for purchase. $20, free ages 12 and younger.

 

Busy Beavers

Sat., Aug 24, 2:30 to 3:30 pm.
Lewis Creek Visitor Center, Bellevue
FREE

Lace up your walking shoes and join a naturalist from the Lewis Creek Visitor Center to learn all about nature's best engineers: beavers. Kids can try a fun fur experiment and then go on a short walk around our wetland. Great for children ages 5 to 10 with accompanying adult(s). Be sure to dress for the weather.

 

End of Summer Movie

Sun., Aug. 25, 1 to 3 p.m.
Ballard Branch of Seattle Public Library
FREE

Head to the Ballard branch of the Seattle Public Library and celebrate the end of summer with ice cream and a screening of the animated film, Miniscule. Space is limited at library events. Please come early to make sure you get a seat.
