Zero Landfill Material Harvest

Saturday, Sept. 28

Here’s one small way you can help the environment: Head to the Miller Community Center for a fun, material harvest for artists, educators, community programs, and creatives. Look for expired material samples from the interior design and architectural community like fabric, wood, metal, stone, vinyl, glass, paper and more! BYO box to bring materials home.

 

Seattle Parrot Expo

Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 28-29
10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Auburn Community & Events Center

Did you know they don’t only hang out with pirates? Come to Auburn this Saturday and learn all about parrots and other incredible rainforest creatures. Watch parrots fly, skate, and play basketball and enjoy a story time area and petting zoo, too. Donations welcomed. 

 

Inclusive Story Time for Children of all Abilities

Montlake Branch of Seattle Public Libraries

Kids of all abilities can enjoy group story times alongside their peers this Saturday at the Montlake branch of the Seattle Public Library. Presented at a preschool level, the story time is held in a modified environment where lighting and music are lower and movement and expression is encouraged. 

Bring your preschoolers and toddlers to enjoy stories, rhymes and songs!

 

Thriller Dance Workshops

Saturday, Sept. 28
1 to 2:30 p.m.
Redmond Senior Center

Get prepared for the greatest ‘Eastside’ zombie party ever.  Join Redmond Zombies for family friendly, four-week workshops to learn the dance in preparation for the big day. Classes available for 8 years and up. Wear sneakers/comfortable shoes. Bring water and arrive 15 minutes before start time.

 

Italian Festival

Saturday and Sunday, Spet. 28-29
10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Seattle Center

Celebrity chef demonstrations, delicious food, lively music and dance, an energetic grape stomp, an athletic pizza toss, opera for kids, a fancy footwork soccer clinic, Italian dog breeds, an Italian marketplace, children’s activities, puppet shows and more at the Italian Festival this weekend at the Seattle Center. Bellissimo! 

 

Stuffed Animal Hospital

Are you worried because your favorite stuffy is looking a little worn after a summer of adventuring? Or has your dog's favorite toy lost its squeak? Never fear! Bring your well-loved toys to the Vashon Library Stuffed Animal Hospital and the kind ‘Doctors’ there will give your lovey some well-deserved TLC.
