Take Your Kids on The Earth Stewards Garden Tour at Seattle Tilth

Looking for a great way to teach the students in your class the emportance of caring for the earth and the fun of growing food and flowers? Seattle TIlth has just the thing. Teachers are encouraged to bring students in pre-school through six grade to Seattle Tilth’s Kids Garden, for fun, hands-on learning in an outdoor garden classroom. The garden is perfect for a field trip or for a summer camp outing.

The Earth Stewards Garden Tour allows children to engage all their senses through exploration and hands on activities . They will taste herbs and flowers, touch the soft and the prickly plants, forage in the soil to discover compost critters and find the unexpected delights of gardening.

All tours begin with an introductory activity and two or three other learning “stations.” Children learn and practice important garden activities such as making compost, planting, tending and harvesting crops, collecting seeds and other seasonal activities. Visit once or plan a series of visits to build upon gardening and environmental concepts.

Spring tours take place from 10-11:30 a.m. and 1-2:30 p.m. Tuesday-Friday. See the available dates before contacting us by clicking here: Earth Stewards Garden Tours Spring Schedule

Tours cost $5.50 per student and adult with a $90 minimum per tour. For Pre K and kindergarten schools must provide one adult chaperone for every four students. For first through fifth grade please provide a one adult chaperone for every six students. The organization can accommodate up to 35 students per tour slot. Larger groups may be accommodated in an alternative time frame.
