The "Why I Will Say NO to Alcohol and Drugs" essay contest, sponsored by the Washington State Law Enforcement Association and open to all Washington eighth graders, is accepting entries from now until Monday, Jan. 31.
Four cash prizes, ranging from $100 to $500, will be awarded in each of the five districts in the state, for a total of 15 prizes. All district-level winners will be presented with a certificate of award. Sponsoring schools will also receive certificates of participation.
