Two students from Seattle have been awarded the Chick Evans Caddie Scholarship, a full tuition and housing college scholarship: Xiu Wen Li and Arthur Ung from Nathan Hale High School.
Evans Scholars are golf caddies who were selected based on their caddie record, academics, financial need, leadership and character. The students will attend the University of Washington this fall. The Evans Scholarship is valued at an estimated $70,000 for four years.
Locally, the Washington State Golf Association and the Pacific Northwest Golf Association co-sponsor the program, along with the Western Golf Association. Recipients were chosen after individual candidate interviews.
Scholarship funds come mostly from contributions by more than 100,000 golfers across the country. To learn more about the program, visit https://www.wgaesf.com/.
