Children from low-income families across the greater Seattle area, as well as children across the country, will receive brand-new books this week from First Book, a national nonprofit organization. Over 350,000 books will be distributed altogether; 100,000 books will go to children at local schools and programs in Seattle.
First Book is partnering with World Vision, a Christian humanitarian organization based in Federal Way that works with children and families living in poverty around the world. In a special event on Thursday, World Vision is providing warehouse space and volunteers to make the book distributions possible.
