Woodland Park Zoo’s shuttle service from the Eastside kicks off Saturday, June 23. The fee is $2 roundtrip for each rider ages 13 and older; youth 12 and younger are free. The zoo will also offer a discount of $2 off admission to visitors who ride public transportation to the zoo.
The shuttle service and Metro discounts are designed to encourage eco-friendly alternative transportation options, help zoo patrons save on the cost of gas, tolling and parking, and reduce the impact of traffic and overflow parking on the surrounding neighborhoods during the zoo’s peak summer season.
From now through Sept. 2, the shuttle will run between the Eastside and the zoo on Saturdays and Sundays, every half hour from 9:15 a.m. to 6:15 p.m. Riders can hop on the shuttle at the east end of Crossroads Mall, located at 15600 N.E. 8th St. in Bellevue.
