Saturday (April 30) is Healthy Kids Day at your local YMCA

Celebrate kids being kids at 12 King County locations on Saturday.

It’s Healthy Kids Day on Saturday, April 30 (2022). This is a YMCA tradition now in its 30th year.

Everyone is invited for a day of healthy, active, and fun activities that celebrate kids being kids.

Healthy Kids Day celebrates kids’ mental and physical health, while teaching healthy habits, encouraging active play and inspiring a lifetime love of physical activity. More than 1,400 Y locations across all 50 states — including 12 in King County alone — will be the scene of all kinds of active fun on Saturday morning!

Healthy Kids Day highlights:

Healthy snack demonstrations, samples and recipes, in conjunction with QFC.

Water safety activities and tips including how to properly fit a lifejacket and what to do (and not to do) if someone is struggling in the water.

Giveaways: Lots of goodies including T-shirts, gift cards, YMCA memberships, swim lessons and free camps.

Crafts: YMCA camp staffers will lead a camp-inspired craft and have information about summer offerings through the YMCA>

Get physical and have fun with sports challenges, bounce houses and more.

The fun takes place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at 12 Puget Sound-area locations from Snoqualmie to Sammamish and Bellevue to Bothell (and several in Seattle). Here’s the full list.  The events are free and open to all.
