The Museum of Flight has a very special visitor here for a limited time.
Known as “Doc,” the Superfortress that arrived this week is one of only two World War II B-29s still flying.
Doc is based in Wichita, Kansas, where a nonprofit maintains it. (It was one of 1,644 such aircraft that Boeing built there during the war.)
This is Doc’s first visit to Seattle, so history and aviation buffs will not want to miss it.

Here’s what’s going on:
The plane will be parked in the parking lot at the Museum of Flight, 9404 E. Marginal Way S.
Ground and cockpit tours will be available on a first-come, first-served basis Thursday through Sunday, May 19-22 (2022). Hours are 9:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Thursday and Friday; noon-4:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Cost: $10 per person or $20 per family.
In addition, flights are scheduled for Saturday and Sunday mornings, but when we checked, they were already sold out! Here’s where to look, in case that should happen to change. And in the meantime, here’s a video of the flight experience.
