2025 Summer Fair Guide: Washington State, Evergreen, and King County Fairs

Your family’s go-to list of summer fairs

With many full-on fairs happening every summer and fall around the state, you don’t have to travel far to enjoy the fun. Just go online to the Washington State Fairs Association and find one convenient to your location or schedule. For those of us in the Puget Sound region, three stand out as the biggest and best of all the livestock love’n, elephant ear eat’n, giant squash measuring bunch in 2025: King County Fair in Enumclaw, Evergreen State Fair in Monroe, and Washington State Fair in Puyallup.

King County Fair, Enumclaw

  • Dates: July 17-20, 2025
  • Location: 45224 284th Ave SE, Enumclaw, WA 98022
  • Cost: $15 for general admission 13+, $10 for child (5-12), $8 senior (60+). Buy tickets here.

Round up your little ones, grab the sunscreen, and get ready for a day of entertainment, contests, fair foods, and animals at the 2025 King County Fair, which has the honor of being the oldest fair west of the Mississippi River! What’s on the docket for 2025? This year’s event will feature a rough stock rodeo (costs extra) and rodeo clown bullfighting, music stages, farm animals galore, roaming characters, barrel racing, and much more. Evergreen State Fair, Monroe

  • Dates: August 21-26, August 28-31, 2025, and September 1, 2025
  • Location: 14405 179th Ave SE, Monroe, WA 98272
  • Cost: $10-$18; varies by age and date. Seniors (90 and older) and kids (5 and under) are FREE. Buy tickets here.

This year’s 2025 fair theme, “Evergreen State Fair, Where the Magic Comes Alive,” embodies the enchantment created during the 11-day event.

Chock full of entertainment, music, and a whole host of food, agriculture, and craft competitions, there’s something for everyone at this timeless Monroe event. The Evergreen State Fair has received accolades for its Morning of Dreams event, a special morning fair session for children and adults with disabilities or special needs (Tuesday, August 26, 2025: 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.). Washington State Fair (Aka “The Puyallup Fair”)

  • Dates: August 29-September 21, 2025 (Closed Tuesdays, and Sept. 3)
  • Location: 110 9th Ave SW, Puyallup, WA 98371
  • Cost: Admission varies by date; kids 5 and under are free. Buy tickets here.

Often still affectionately called the Puyallup Fair, the Washington State Fair 2025 is the largest single annual event in the state and one of the biggest in the world. Held in Puyallup, this end-of-summer tradition draws hundreds of thousands for its carnival rides, food, animals, concerts, and competitions. Did you know it takes 1,900 people to put on a fair this size? There will be many new and familiar big-fair attractions: carnival rides, animals, agriculture competitions, food, crafts, and a whole lot of kid-oriented fun. Whether you grew up calling it the Puyallup Fair or now refer to it as the Washington State Fair, this event is a must-do for families across the region.
