On Saturday, March 1, Seattle-based R&B musician Otieno Terry won the top prize at EMP Museum’s 13th annual Sound Off! battle of the bands competition for artists 21 and under. Otieno Terry beat out Everett’s Fauna Shade, who came in second place, followed by Seattle synth pop group Laser Fox. Bellevue punk band Thee Samedi came in fourth and won the award for Audience Favorite.

Sound Off! champion Otieno Terry won a slot at the 2014 Bumbershoot Music and Arts Festival. All four finalists received gear, studio time, radio airplay and one-on-one consultations with music industry professionals.
