If you think sailing is something only posh adults do, the free Youth Sailing Open House happening 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Seattle’s Mt. Baker neighborhood will change your mind. Learn all about local sailing programs serving kids as young as age 5(!) all the way through high school, plus enjoy hands-on activities, boat rides and a barbecue lunch.
This evening from 5 to 9 p.m., West Seattle’s Youngstown Cultural Arts Center celebrates their ninth anniversary in family-friendly style during Youngstown Thrive 9. Check out performances from Eli Rosenblatt, Eduardo Mendonça, and the Dogg Pound Dance Crew, plus enjoy refreshments (including a 21-and-over lounge) and art activities. Tickets are $10 adults, $5 kids, and benefit youth programming at Youngstown.
