Seattle indie rocker and parent Kimya Dawson is hosting a musical benefit Sunday, September 13 to support Seattle teachers. Dawson is working with Seattle educator and activist Jesse Hagopian to raise money for and show support for public school teachers while they strike.
Sunday's all-ages musical event will feature performances by Kimya Dawson, Aesop Rock, Grayskul, and comedian Alex Zerbe, among others. Dawson encourages attendees to wear red to the event; there's a suggested $5 donation at the door.
Seattle Theater Group and the Neptune Theater donated space for the event, hosted at the Neptune Theater, and the Coalition for the School Seattle Deserves is sponsoring the event.
