Pirates, Dog Films, and Car shows galore fill this weekend in the Seattle area. Check out Erika's picks for this fabulous weekend!

Dog Film Festival, Sun June 26, 4 & 6:30 p.m. SIFF Cinema Uptown. Here’s an event that’s great for all ages AND canines. BYO furry (canine) friend to one of two film screenings of narrated, animated and documentary shorts about, you guessed it, Dogs! 4 p.m. show is more lighthearted and 6:30 p.m. contains subtitles. $20. Proceeds benefit Seattle Humane.  Dog Film Festival

 

Greenwood Car Show, Sat June 25. 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. Greenwood Ave N and N 85th. FREE. A mile and half of classic and collector cars plus a fun kids’ zone, live entertainment, great food vendors and more. Greenwood Car Show

 

Battlefrog Obstacle Race, Sat June 25. 8:30 a.m. Remlinger Farms. Kids 13 and older can take part in the 8K race with 22 obstacles, like walls, ropes, over/unders and more. Kids 8 and older can try the 1 mile race with 10 obstacles and there is also a 400 meter Tadpole Dash for kids 4-8 with 8 obstacles. $20-69, $5-15 for spectators. Battlefrog Obstacle Race.

 

Aviation Pavilion Grand Opening Celebration, Sat June 25, 9 a.m. – 8 p.m. Museum of Flight. 19 classic planes will be housed in the new Museum of Flight Aviation Pavilion. Come celebrate the new space with a day of aerial acrobatics, a fashion show, goodie bags and more. Event included with admission. $23, $20 active military, $19 seniors, $14 ages 5-17, free ages 4 and younger. Discounts for online ticket purchase. Aviation Pavilion Grand Opening

 

Seafair Pirates Landing, Sat June 25, 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. Alki Beach. FREE. Ay, Mateys, call your parrot and dig out your eye patch, the pirates are coming a’shore. Head to Alki for a day of live entertainment, vendors, inflatables and more. Pirates to arrive around 1:30 p.m. Seafair Pirates Landing. 

 

Maker Days: DIY Camera Projects, Sat June 25, 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. MOHAI. BYO camera or smartphone and learn some fun new photography tricks for the summer including pinhole filters, long-exposure pictures and DIY tripods. Event included with admission. $19.95, $15.95 seniors, $13.95 students and military, free ages 14 and younger accompanied by an adult. Maker Days: DIY Camera Projects
