Family Forest Walk: Birds of Promontory Point, Sat Sept 17 10-11:30 a.m. Promontory Point Pavilion 6700 NE 65th St. Did you know that around 200 bird species live in and around Magnuson Park? Come explore the “birdiest” part of the park, the forest and meadow and try to spy raptors, woodpeckers, songbirds, and more as you play Habitat Bingo and learn simple bird identification skills. Bug Blast, Sun Sept 18, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. Burke Museum. Bugs that crawl, bugs that fly, bugs that skitter, slip and slide. Come see bugs of all kinds, both living and from the Burke Museum’s collection, plus take part in fun, bug-themed activities. Fall Restoration Day in Volunteer Park, Sun Sept 18 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. FREE. Come for an hour or stay all day and help get the park ready for winter by planting, wedding and mulching in two garden beds near the lily ponds. No gardening experience necessary.
