Kids 8 and older, and their families will love this new musical based on the age-old favorite, Alice in Wonderland. All the classic characters will be present, but this tale takes on a few, fun new ‘tech’ twists. The show runs various times through June 4. (Kirkland). Adult tickets $19, Youth to 21 and 65+ $17.

The longest running street fair in the country is right here in Seattle. Come join the fun at two big days in the U District. Featuring hundreds of craft, food and information booths, several entertainment stages, loads of street performers, a fantastic kids’ area and, lest you forget, a cowboy riding a giant chicken.

Beat the Bridge Sun May 21, 8 a.m. Husky Stadium
There’s something for everyone at the annual Beat the Bridge run benefiting the NW chapter of JDRF. Choose from a competitive 8K run where you can try to get across the U Bridge before it’s raised, a wheelchair race, a non-competitive 3-mile family walk, a 1-mile fun run, or a Diaper Derby for toddlers. Events begin at 8 a.m. Get there early because it will be busy. $30 to $40.
Paine Field Aviation Day Sat May 20 , 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Everett
The Flying Heritage Collection’s aircraft take to the skies as part of Paine Field’s Aviation Day this Saturday! It’s the 22nd year of this great event which includes a fun 5K/10K run/walk, a firefighter’s pancake breakfast and free Young Eagles introductory flights for kids 8-17. First come, first served on those. Meet pilots, talk to flight schools and be amazed at the aerial demonstrations overhead. $15 ages 10 and up or $35 for a family pass.
