Despite the popularity of the internet, snail mail perseveres and so do the stamps. Come check out this amazing collection of stamps at this national level postage stamp exhibition with over 25 vendors. Free stamps for kids and teachers plus a Scout merit badge seminar. 

 

Apple Pressing at MOHAI Sat Sept 9, 11 a.m.-3 p.m. MOHAI

Join MOHAI, City Fruit, and Washington State University to celebrate fall with a community apple pressing. Learn about our urban orchards, get tips on making cider at home, and explore the science behind developing new varieties of apples. Event included with admission. $19.95, $15.95 seniors, $13.95 students and military, FREE ages 14 and younger. 

 

Kirkland Kids’ Triathlon Sept Sept 9, 11 a.m. Juanita Beach Park

Are your kids tired of the fun run 1Ks? Check out this challenge. The Kirkland Kids’ Triathlon is a non-competitive introduction to triathlons for kids ages 3 to 12. Try out the 50-yard swim/splash, 1/2-mile bike, and 400-yard run. $32, pre-register. 

 

Night Market Sat Sept 9, 4 p.m.-midnight Hing Hay Park. FREE

Head to the ID for a fun evening full of vendors, delicious food, amazing performances, and an all-ages dance party.

 

Arts-A-Glow Lantern Festival Sat Sept 9, 5-10 p.m. Dottie Harper Park. FREE

BYO shakers and bells for a lantern procession and join the fun at an evening of lantern making, face painting, live music, unique performers, delicious food trucks, circus performers, and more. See online for tips. 

 

Round the Rock Sun Sept 10, 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Newcastle Beach Park. FREE

Come cheer on the competitors in a day of challenging stand-up paddle board races, including kids races, benefitting Strong Against Cancer. Food vendors will be on hand, plus free paddle boarding demos and more. $55 to $85, $25 kids race.
