Seattle's Child

Your guide to a kid-friendly city

Come Celebrate at the Seattle Children's Festival

Celebrate the rich cultural diversity of the Pacific Northwest and beyond at Seattle Children's Festival. Produced by Northwest Folklife, this unique celebration has an emphasis on interaction, so kids can see and do through storytelling, music, dance, cooking, illustration and more. Learn new dance moves in workshops ranging from hip-hop to the Dhatto dance of Somalia, to tap dancing with Northwest Tap Connection. Create crankies (moving illustrations) with artist and musician Dejah Leger, listen to stories from the Duwamish tribe, experience the high energy of Tahitian song and dance. There are also toddler friendly activities including a sign language workshop, Drag Queen Story Time with Aleksa Manila, and a performance from The Not-Its!

The festival will be held Sunday, October 8th from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Seattle Center in the Fisher Pavilion and the Armory. Admission is free, however donations are very welcome. Check out the full schedule here, or just go!
