Monday, January 22

SAM Art Workshop for Kids Educators from Seattle Art Museum will lead an art workshop where children explore a work of art, enjoy a story time, and create their own art. Recommended for ages 3 to 5. 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Neighborhood House at High Point (West Seattle).

 

Tuesday, January 23

University Village Play Days Paint the Town is hosting the play day this week. Kids are invited to paint their own ceramic tile. 10 to 11 a.m. Paint the Town – University Village (U District).  

Roosevelt High School Side-by-Side with Seattle Symphony Enjoy a concert featuring the Seattle Symphony and Roosevelt High School performing works by two Russian giants, Prokofiev and Tchaikovsky. 7 p.m. Roosevelt High School Auditorium (Roosevelt).

 

Wednesday, January 24

Build a Computer and Beat the Clock Join a team and build a computer of pen, paper and kitchen sponges to win. 3 to 5 p.m. Beacon Hill Library (Beacon Hill).

 

Thursday, January 25

Play Day: Create Stunt Planes Top Ten Toys will have stunt planes from Faber-Castells Stunt Squadron kit for kids to decorate. Recommended for ages 5 and older. 4 to 5 p.m. Top Ten Toys (Greenwood).

 

Friday, January 26

The Gingerbread Man See a short performance about the title character, perfect for tiny attention spans. Enjoy some playtime in the toddler room (9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.) before or after the show. 11:15 a.m. Belltown Community Center (Belltown).

 

Saturday, January 27

Story Time at Barnes & Noble This week’s story is Fancy Nancy: Oodles of Kittens. Hands-on activities to follow. 11 a.m. Barnes & Noble locations (Pacific Place, Southcenter, Westwood Village, and Northgate).

 

Sunday, January 28

Nighttime Low-Tide Beach Walk Explore the beach during low tides with Beach Naturalist staff and volunteers. Discover what creatures we see on the beach at this time of year. Dress for the weather and for tide pooling: boots, hats, gloves and a good flashlight are musts. 7 to 9 p.m. Constellation Park/South Alki Beach Park (West Seattle).
