11 Free Things To Do With Kids This Week, Feb. 5-11

This week brings a treasure trove of cultural experiences, all absolutely FREE.

Monday, February 5

Juggling Club Beginner to pro, all skills are welcome in this weekly club. Bring your own items to juggle or borrow/purchase. Recommended for ages 5 and older. 7 to 8 p.m. Top Ten Toys (Greenwood).

 

Tuesday, February 6

Meet a Zoo Animal Woodland Park Zoo will be joining Neighborhood House with a visit from an ambassador animal. Children will listen to a story, learn about the animal, and then take turns petting it. 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Neighborhood House – High Point (West Seattle).

 

Wednesday, February 7

Sanctuary in the City Internationally acclaimed countertenor Reginald L. Mobley joins pianist Henry Lebedinsky for a program of music by Black composers from the Classical era to the present, including Art Songs, Spirituals, and Gospel. 12:10 p.m. Christ Our Hope Catholic Church (Belltown).

Drop-In Fitness Seattle Center is hosting weekly winter fitness sessions for all ages and experience levels. Bring water and comfortable shoes.  Take Zumba (6 p.m.) on the Armory Stage, Meditation (7 p.m.) in Armory Room Loft 1, or Yoga (7:30 p.m.) on Armory Stage.  Seattle Center Armory (Lower Queen Anne).

 

Thursday, February 8

CulturalFest 2018: International Expo Arts and crafts, games, and hands-on activities with international students and volunteers representing a variety of cultures. 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. University of Washington HUB.

 

Friday, February 9

Ni Hao! Chinese Story Time Enjoy stories, culture and activities in Mandarin Chinese with storyteller Hua Zhang. For children who speak Chinese and those interested in the language. All ages are welcome. 11 a.m. Shoreline Library (Shoreline).

 

Saturday, February 10

Make Your Own Valentines Clover Toys will provide all of the tools necessary to create special valentines. Also enjoy pink lemonade and candy. 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Clover Toys (Ballard).

Tet Festival: Vietnamese Lunar New Year This celebration includes a traditional lion dance, live performances, food, crafts and more. 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Feb. 10-11. Seattle Center (Lower Queen Anne).

Winter Weekends Kids' Saturday in the Park Get creative with drop-in art activities. Bring a cardboard box from home and turn it into art. Kids will create a vehicle from boxes and recycled materials for an indoor "drive-in" movie. 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Olympic Sculpture Park (Downtown).

Second Saturday Spectacular: The Reptile Man Every Second Saturday, University Heights brings incredible acts to the Auditorium stage. This month, see The Reptile Man and meet his scaly friends including an albino alligator, a tortoise, snakes and more. 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. University Heights Center (U District).

ArtVenture: Memory Treasures Families will ponder the ways they relate to the environment and create unique self-portraits based on and inspired by the natural world. Drop in anytime from 1 to 3 p.m. Get free tickets online. Henry Art Gallery (U District).
