Irish Festival, The Last Unicorn, Zootopia, and more this weekend!

 

 

Kirkland Shamrock Run Sat Mar 17, 9 a.m. Marina Park

Put on something green and join this fun 5K Shamrock run/walk in Kirkland on Saturday at Marina Park. The wee folk can also take part in a 1K kids dash. Dogs and strollers welcome. $41, $15 kids and dogs. 

 

Irish Festival Sat Mar 17, 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Sun Mar 18, 12-6 p.m. Seattle Center Armory FREE

Live Irish music, Irish dancing, Irish genealogy, Irish food, Irish arts & crafts, Irish contests and more at the annual Irish Festival held in the Seattle Center Armory. Slainte!

 

The Tiger & the Dried Persimmon Sat/Sun Mar 17/18, 1 & 3 p.m. Sunset Hill Community Club

Bring the whole family to a bunraku style puppet show at the Sunset Hill Community Club. Puppeteers will tell the Korean folktale about a young tiger and a crying baby. 

 

Green Day Walk Sat Mar 17, 1-3 p.m. Camp Long FREE

Explore some green at a walk through the beautiful Camp Long Park. You’ll learn about native plants from Seattle Urban Nature Guide. Great for kids ages 8 and older. Be sure to wear comfortable shoes and pre-register.

 

The Last Unicorn Sat Mar 17, 7 p.m. Bellevue Youth Theatre

A young unicorn and a silly sorcerer embark on a dangerous journey to discover what happened to the other unicorns. Come see Peter S. Beagle's classic tale adapted from the animated cartoon and book. This approximately 90-minute show is great for all ages although the Red Bull sequence may be too intense for some younger children. $10-$15.

 

PJ & Popcorn Community Movie Sun Mar 18, 3-5:30 p.m. Seattle Jewish Community School. FREE

Wear your favorite pajamas, bring your favorite pillow & join friends and family at the Seattle Jewish Community School for a showing of the animated adventure, Zootopia. Can a rookie bunny cop and a con artist fox work together to uncover a conspiracy and prove their innocence? You’ll have to come see. Kosher snacks provided. Please pre-register.
