Monday, December 10

The Big Play Date Drop in for play-based learning that encourages language skills and social and emotional development. Geared toward newborns through age 6, but all ages welcome. 10 a.m. to noon. Renton Highlands Library, Renton.

Children’s Story Time Preschoolers and toddlers can enjoy stories, songs and rhymes. 10:30 a.m. to noon. Capitol Hill Branch Library, Seattle.

Tuesday, December 11

The Gingerbread Man Watch a crazy cast of characters chase a tricky cookie. Presented by Sweet Pea Cottage. 10 to 11 a.m. Loyal Heights Community Center, Seattle.

Toddler Gym Playtime Meet new friends, bounce and play, ride scooters and tricycles, roll and throw balls and more. For toddlers and preschoolers through age 5. 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Queen Anne Community Center, Seattle.

Wednesday, December 12

Student Wednesday at BAM Students of all ages can explore the art galleries after school. Free with downloadable coupon. 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Bellevue Arts Museum.

Christmas Ship Visit Listen to local school choirs sing carols while waiting for the Argosy Christmas Ship™ to arrive. Dress for the weather. There’ll be a beach fire and warm refreshments to help keep you cozy. 7:30 to 9 p.m. Richmond Beach Saltwater Park, Shoreline.

Thursday, December 13

“Snow Sisters!” Winter Story Time Meet local author Kerri Kokias and hear her read from her children’s book “Snow Sisters!” 11:15 a.m. Delridge Branch Library, West Seattle.

Holiday in the Park See Volunteer Park transform into a winter wonderland with hundreds of luminarias lighting the pathways. There’ll be caroling, sweet treats and kids activities. 6 to 8 p.m. Volunteer Park, Seattle.

SAM Lights Artistic light installations illuminate the pathways through the Olympic Sculpture Park. Make art, listen to music and take in the sights. 6 to 9 p.m. Olympic Sculpture Park, Seattle.

Friday, December 14

Snow Day in Denny Park Check out a winter light display, holiday-themed entertainment, interactive crafts, food trucks, a beer garden, a giant snow globe photo booth and a mini market. Stay warm while dancing to live music and a festive playlist curated by a KEXP. 4 to 9 p.m. Denny Park, Seattle.

Family Game Night Have a chill Friday night hanging out with friends and neighbors and playing favorite games. BYOBoard game or check out the games provided. 6-7:45 p.m. Miller Community Center, Capitol Hill.

Saturday, December 15

Native Art Market Browse handmade items from Native American artists, including clothing, drums, arts and more. 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. today and Sunday. Daybreak Star Indian Cultural Center, Seattle (Discovery Park).

A Bonsai Solstice This beautiful bonsai garden will be illuminated by the soft glow of holiday lights. Live acoustic music and sweet treats, too. 4 to 7 p.m. Pacific Bonsai Museum, Federal Way.
