Family-friendly fun all around the Sound

Hey there, families, and welcome to Erika’s Picks. For years, I’ve been looking for the best family-friendly events happening each weekend around the greater Seattle area. Whether you’re looking to explore a new park, attend a fun workshop, or catch a local performance, I’ve got you covered. Each week, I’ll share my handpicked activities that will keep the little ones entertained, engaged, and maybe even learning something new. So, grab your calendar, gather up your crew, and get ready for a fun-filled weekend! Let’s dive into Seattle family events for the weekend of June 19-21, 2026.

Run & Walk with Pride

  • Date: Sat, June 20 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
  • Location: Seward Park
  • Cost: Adults $40, kids under 12-17 $20. Kids 0-12 may unofficially participate for free, provided they are accompanied and supervised by an adult.

Run & Walk with Pride (RWWP) is an annual event presented by Seattle Frontrunners and benefiting Peer Seattle and Seattle Pride. Lace up your running shoes this Saturday and take part in the fun 4K and 8K races happening in beautiful Seward Park.

Fremont Fair & Solstice Parade

  • Date: Sat, June 20 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sun, June 21 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Location: Fremont Neighborhood, Seattle
  • Cost: FREE

Kick off summer in Seattle with the quirky and ever-popular Fremont Fair this weekend. Come see six city blocks of the Fremont neighborhood filled with stages of live music, craft vendors, beer gardens, 75+ art cars, parades, delicious fair foods, kid activities and so much more. With singing lobsters, chalk artists, giant puppets, floats, the Solstice parade on Saturday, and a dog parade on Sunday, the Fremont Fair has something for everyone. welcomes family members of all ages and there are special activities just for kids and families.

Edmonds Art Festival

  • Date: Fri, June 19 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sat, June 20 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sun, June 21 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Location: Frances Anderson Center, Edmonds
  • Cost: FREE

The Edmonds Arts Festival is going on all weekend on Main Street. Bring the whole family to meet artists and see their work in a beautiful outdoor setting, view a juried art competition, watch live entertainment on two stages, wander the Farmer’s Market, and create art with your kids in the hands-on children’s art activity area.

The Concert Truck

  • Date: Sat, June 20 and Sun, June 21 at various times
  • Location: Various locations
  • Cost: FREE

The Concert Truck has returned to Seattle this summer! This concert hall on wheels brings live chamber music directly to neighborhoods, parks, and markets across the region, and it is free and open to the public. This event is perfect for families, first-time listeners, and music lovers alike. The Concert Truck makes world-class music fun, accessible, and unforgettable. This weekend you can find them on Saturday at Gas Works Park at 6 p.m. and on Sunday at Seward Park at 11 a.m. and at Bellevue Downtown Park at 4 p.m. Check out their schedule online for other times and locations.

Mt Baker Summer Festival

  • Date: Sat, June 20 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Location: Hunter Boulevard Park
  • Cost: FREE

Kick off summer with art, music, and community at the Mount Baker Summer Festival at Hunter Boulevard Park. Back by popular demand is their fun, bike parade. Kids can start decorating their bikes at 9 a.m. and the parade will begin at 9:40. The festival itself opens directly after the parade with live music, a kids’ stage, a puppet show, more than 30 artisan booths, lots of yummy food vendors, inflatable slides, craft tables, a scavenger hunt, and more. The event is free but bring money for food and incidentals.
