Seattle's Child

Your guide to a kid-friendly city

Saturday is Free Comic Book Day; here's where to go around Seattle

Free Comic Book Day is Saturday, May 4, and participating stores will be giving away a selection of titles free.

Golden Age Collectibles (1501 Pike Place #401) is celebrating the day by hosting three superheroes: Batman and Wonder Woman are dropping by between noon and 2 p.m., and Spider-Man will be there from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

You can look for participating stores near you using this store locator. Those with the “Kid Friendly” badge can be relied upon to have titles that make the most sense for youngsters. Some King County Library System branches also are hosting related events, some in conjunction with "Star Wars" (May the 4th be with you) Day.
