Get down with your roots at Bastyr University's 17th annual Herb and Food Fair, May 21st, 10 am-5 pm, where nature is celebrated from earth to table. This free festival takes place in the university's lush campus next to beautiful St. Edward State Park, and is a great opportunity to get the family out and into nature. Take your kids to explore the many trails in the surrounding woods, or enjoy tours of the university's bountiful gardens. A craft sale offers wares from local artists and herbalists, as well as medicinal and culinary plant starts from Bastyr's organic garden. Plenty of nutritious and delicious homemade food is available, and food experts are on hand throughout the day offering cooking demonstrations and talks about kombucha brewing, fermentation and more. Live music and entertainment will keep the little ones happy, as will a children's area offering art, activities and face painting.
