Lace up your skates and hit the ice

Updated for 2024-25: Lace up your skates and glide away (gracefully) at any one of these ice skating rinks around the Seattle and the Puget Sound area. If you want to make the holidays memorable, head over to one of many pop-up and seasonal ice rinks that open through the winter and are glammed out with festive colors and bright lights. Holidays over, but still want to skate? We’ve also listed rinks open the entire year so you won’t miss a beat. After all, indoor skating is a great way to get the family out for cool air and exercise. Before you head out, though,Ā look at ourĀ ice skating guide, which is helpful, especially for first-timers.

Pop-up ice skating rinks around the Seattle area

Bellevue Downtown Ice Rink

Located in Bellevue Downtown Park, this open-air arena offers concessions with some weekday evenings reserved for stroller skate and skating lessons.

When: Nov. 15, 2024 through Jan. 12, 2025. Various hours.

Where: Bellevue Downtown Park, 10201 NE 4th St, Bellevue, WA 98004Ā 

Cost: Weekdays: $15 (includes skate rental) Weekends: $20 Winter break (Dec 20-Jan 5): $25. Book tickets online.

 

Enchant Christmas Ice Skating Rink

Glide along the ice skating trail after a visit to the light maze and get the full holiday experience at Enchant Christmas at T-Mobile Park. While there, don’t miss the holiday festivities, including a visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus, a shopping village, a children’s play space, and seasonal food and drink.

When: Nov. 22 – Dec. 29, 2024. Hours/days vary.

Ice Skating at Holiday Magic

Listen to some popular holiday tunes while you and your kids take a spin around The GliceĀ® synthetic ice rink. Space is limited, so reserve your spot early. All skaters must be at least 2-years-old. Skaters 12-years-old and younger must be supervised by an adult.

When: December 6-23, 2024. 4:30 p.m. – 9:30 p.m. See schedule here

Cost: Skating admission, plus skate rental, is $10 on-site. Holiday Magic admission is required and sold separately. Buy tickets online.

 

Oly On Ice

Join some winter fun at this popular pop-up ice skating rink located down south of Seattle in Olympia. Open all week, parking is free and available next to the rink in the city’s lots during evening and weekend hours. Neighborhood street parking available too.

When: Open Nov. 22, 2024 through January 20, 2025

Where: Isthmus Park, 529 4th Ave W, Olympia, WA 98501

Cost: Tickets can be purchased in advance here. Prices (including skates) $10-$16 for ages 4 and up; $5 for toddlers.

 

Pop up Ice Skating in Occidental Square

A popular ice skating rink in the Seattle area, this pop-up happens in December at Occidental Square. This popular free rink is open Dec. 13ā€“15 and skaters of all ages and skill levels are invited. The festivities on Sunday will include a special surprise for Seattle Kraken fans. The rink is open from noonā€“6 p.m. each day, with skates provided to those who need them.

When: December 13-15, 2024. 12 p.m. – 6 p.m. daily

Where: Occidental Square, 117 S Washington St, Seattle, WA 98104

Cost: Admission is free for everyone, with skates available to borrow.

 

Sno-King Ice ArenaĀ 

Whether youā€™re a beginner looking to glide gracefully on the ice or a seasoned enthusiast seeking to join in the fun, the state-of-the-art facilities at Sno-King Ice Arenas has got your covered. Offering public ice skating, stick-N-puck hockey, figure skating, parties and events they’ve got it all.

Location: Kirkland, Renton, and Snoqualmie

Cost: Public skating is $6-$7 per person (5 and under), $14-$15 for ages 6 and up, and $5 for skate rental

 

Tulalip Lights & Ice

Take a family fun outing to the Tulalip Amphitheatre for their Tulalip Lights & Ice seasonal ice skating rink. Stick around to see over 7 million holiday lights displayed throughout Quil Ceda Village, too.

More family-friendly activities will be happening at the Tulalip Amphitheatre, including appearances by ā€œMr. & Mrs. Claus,ā€ ā€œThe Grinchā€ and ā€œBuddy the Elf,ā€ a vibrant open-air food court and a special holiday market with vendors offering gifts and crafts. Also scheduled are a variety of family-friendly activities that include balloon artists, caricaturists and much more.

Indoor ice skating rinks around the Seattle area

Angel of the Winds Arena (Everett Community Ice Rink)

Come to the Everett Community Ice Rink for public skating. The ice skating rink is open year-round, days and time vary. Check their calendar for the schedule.

Cost: $12 admission, $5 skate rental, $7.50 for children 5 and under (includes skate rental)

 

Bremerton Ice Center

Skate for free on Wednesdays (2 to 5 p.m. ) with your own skates ($5 skate rental) if you go to the parks and recreation office in the morning before and grab a free skate slip. Friday nights 9 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. is glow skate and it is $10 admission flat with the skate rentals included.

They have a full cafe and bar with food for purchase. They have free Wifi and a workspace in the lobby for adults to catch up on emails whole the kids enjoy themselves on the ice.

Kent Valley Ice Centre

Whether you are brand-new or highly experienced skater, all are welcome to join Kent Valley Ice Centre’s public skate sessions. They have a great sound system, blacklight skate sessions and over a thousand pairs of rental skates on hand.

Kraken Community Iceplex

Bring your family and friends and join fellow Kraken fans and Seattleites alike for public skate sessions in the afternoons, over weekends, and in the evenings. All ages and levels are welcome. Helmets are recommended. The ice rink offers sensory-friendly skate, toddler play hour, and themed skate sessions, too. They have a bar and grill on the upper level that provides a full lunch/dinner menu along with a view of the ice rink. Not a bad view when hockey leagues play on the ice.

Sprinker Recreation Center

Sprinker Recreation Center has a series of figure skating, learn to skate, hockey programs and public skate sessions. If you like bumper cars, come experience the thrill of driving them on ice! With the ability to spin 360 degrees, it is a safe and fun way to provide excitement and entertainment for the whole family.
