Celebrate Fall at Suncadia

Suncadia shines in the Fall! Head over the mountains with the family to enjoy the Harvest Festival this coming weekend and stay for the golf, world class spa treatments and local dining.

Suncadia is less than two hours from Seattle and offers more than 6,000 acres of forested mountain landscape and year round activities for the perfect Pacific Northwest escape. The 40+ miles of hiking and biking trails allow visitors to explore all that Suncadia has to offer.

Harvest Festival is Suncadia’s Fall moment. This is the 12th year for this annual weekend of seasonal fun. Held at the Historic Nelson Farm, the festival hosts live music, a hay maze, pumpkin patch, petting zoo, pony rides, beer garden, wagon rides and even a Pee-Wee Rodeo.

The Big Dirty Run

Runners will want to head over on Sunday, October 15th for the Big Dirty Run. This 5k is not your average run. Participants run, walk, crawl, and climb through the 5K course through the muddy backwoods trails of Suncadia’s Nelson Preserve neighborhood. The reward for making it through to the muddy finish is a cold glass of beer (or root beer!). The kid’s race features a 1 mile course for ages 5 to 12.

Pee Wee Rodeo

Head to the festival between 1:30 p.m. and 3 p.m. for the Pee Wee Rodeo. Kids will have the opportunity to try their hands at bull riding, hog tying, lasso tossing and barrel racing, all with guidance from real cowboys.

Gathering Over Grapes

Wine lovers will enjoy Gathering over Grapes on Saturday, October 14th. Sample wines from around the Pacific Northwest and soak in live music. Chat with vintners about their grapes, blending strategies and bottling while enjoying tasty bites from Suncadia’s chefs.

Harvest Adventures

The kids will love face painting and balloon art along with airbrush tattoos. Crafts are presented by the West Seattle Art Nest for a crafty good time. Finish the weekend with a trip to Cle Elum or Roslyn for tasty food, adventuresome parks and fun museums. Stop in to Owen Meats for some delicious jerky or have a huge cinnamon roll at the Cle Elum bakery. Take in the expansive autumn views with a hike through the Cascade Mountains and don’t forget to do a quick jaunt up and down the 1,000 steps.
