Kids and their parents are invited to come see Sammy the Salmon and hear Tom Murdoch, Director of the Adopt a Stream Foundation, talk about salmon and their unique life history on October 30 at 5 p.m. at the City of Kenmore’s Council Chambers.
There will be a children’s art project to start off the evening and Sammy the salmon will be available for anyone who wants their picture taken with him. Children and adults will be invited to help participate in watershed games and a salmon life cycle fashion show.
The family event is presented by PERK – People for an Environmentally Responsible Kenmore – a citizen-based non-profit focusing on environmental education, habitat restoration, and preservation issues. As a part of its continuing mission, PERK is hosting a series of scientific lectures and family events over the next few months, including an orienteering-like project for the Spring of 2020 for families to get outdoors and explore local natural, cultural, and historical treasures.
