Bartell Drugs is helping to give "bear hugs" to children in stressful or traumatic situations as the Puget Sound area drugstore chain teams up again with Warm 106.9 FM in the annual "Teddy Bear Patrol" campaign, April 2 through 29. This is the 28th year of this successful campaign. Last year more than 10,000 bears were donated.
The annual drive puts teddy bears in the hands of community police departments, hospitals and emergency response teams so they can give the bears to children involved in challenging situations. You can donate a bear (12 inches or shorter) at Bartell Drugs’ 63 stores in King, Snohomish and Pierce Counties. Another option is to purchase an official "Bartell Bear" for $8, and Bartell Drugs will donate a second bear to the campaign.
In addition to store-wide collection efforts, Bartell Drugs and Warm 106.9 have teamed up for two special collection events with the station's on-air personalities and fire and police personnel (subject to availability) on hand to personally accept donations for the drive. The events are Saturday, April 15, noon-2 p.m., at Edmonds Bartell Drugs, 23028 100th Ave. W., Edmonds, and Saturday, April 22, 1-3 p.m., at Issaquah Bartell Drugs, 5700 East Lake Sammamish Parkway SE, Issaquah.
