Pippi Day, A Little Mermaid, a SANCA showcase, and more!

 

Pippi Day Sat April 8, 10 a.m.-1:30 p.m., Nordic Heritage Museum 
It’s time to celebrate your favorite, red headed, pigtailed, spunky heroine at the Nordic Heritage Museum this Saturday. Dress as your favorite character from the Pippi Longstocking book series and enjoy a Swedish pancake breakfast with dancing and crafts followed by a showing of Pippi in the South Seas Appropriate for all ages. $9, $7 members, $5 ages 5 to 12, free ages 4 and younger, includes museum admission. Baby Boeing’s 50th Birthday Party Sun April 9, 12-4 p.m., Museum of Flight
Half a century already? Hooray for the 50th birthday of the Boeing 737’s first flight! Head to the Museum of Flight and take part in a panel discussion (noon) with the engineers and original pilot plus view the original aircraft. Keep your fingers crossed – there could be a flight demonstration, too (1:15 pm) followed by a birthday cake reception. Event included with museum admission. $23, $19 seniors, $14 ages 5 to 17, free ages 4 and younger. Free ages 4 and younger. (Boeing Field). 

A Little Mermaid Sat April 8, 11 a.m.- 12 p.m., Rainier Arts Center
Join Storybook Theater for this classic tale with original songs and a twist. As the story goes, life underwater isn’t easy for a little mermaid who dreams of running and dancing. In this version of Hans Christian Anderson’s classic, the audience gets to decide whether the little mermaid should keep her legs or high-tail it back to sea. Best for ages 3 and older. $15. Show runs thru May 20 at various locations.

Free Family Day at Bellevue Arts Museum Sat Apr 8, 12-4 p.m.
Kids and their families are invited to explore the galleries and create unique art projects, inspired by the animals, plants, and colors of spring. All ages welcome and all supplies are provided.  Most projects best suited for kids ages 4 to 10.

Woodinville’s Great Community Egg Hunt Sat April 8, 12-2 p.m. Woodinville Sports Fields. FREE
Join the hunt for more than 30,000 eggs this Saturday at the Woodinville Sports Fields. Be sure to stick around after for a fun afternoon of bouncy houses, face painting, games, and more. Gates open at noon with hunts at 1 p.m and 1:30 p.m. Canned food donations welcomed.

SASS: 4 Unique Circus Variety Shows Fri April 7, 7 p.m., Sat April 8, 3 & 7 p.m., Sun April 9, 3 p.m. Broadway Performance Hall
It’s SANCA's annual showcase of unique circus performances featuring students, alumni, staff, and friends. Each show features a different line up of spectacular local and internationally renowned circus performers alongside SANCA's student performers. It’s an afternoon of acrobatics, high-flying aerials, juggling, and much more! Kids 12 and under $12, Adults $20.
