Kids Obstacle Challenge Sat Aug 19, 8:30 a.m.-2 p.m. Lake Sammamish State Park
If the basic 5K is too monotonous for your little ones, check out this event: The Kids Obstacle Challenge is a 1-2 mile adventure and obstacle course series for kids ages 5 to 16, with amazing obstacles and plenty of mud! Be sure to bring a change of clothes for the ride home. $46-$56 per child, parents can participate for free. Pre-register.
Summer Splash Sat Aug 19, 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Green Lake Park. FREE
It’s free, it’s fun and it’s all day long! Celebrate summer fun at Green Lake Park with live entertainment, kid-friendly activities, food booths, giveaways, and the opportunity for children and adults to try out canoeing, kayaking, stand-up paddle boarding, and rowing. There will also be a Corporate Cup Regatta with 13 Seattle companies competing for the Corporate Cup trophy.
Go, Dog. Go! Sat Aug 19, 10 a.m. Emmanuel Episcopal Church – on the lawn
Kids 3 and older will love this live action play based on the book of the same title. Original songs and dances performed by young actors with Youth Theatre Northwest. The play will be held outdoors, so bring a blanket or chair. Various dates and times through Aug. 26. $13-15.

Get out and get moving at the annual Big Day of Play. Try out and obstacle course, inflatables, a rock climbing wall, cultural music and dance presentations, dance workshops, and sport exhibitions for all ages.

Tweens and teens will love this event at the Seattle Center. Head to the outdoor area adjacent to the Artists at Play playground and enjoy fun activities and some of the region’s most popular kids’ band including Runt on Aug 19.
Recycled Robots and Rockets at Magnolia Farmers’ Market Sat Aug 19, 11 a.m.-12 p.m. Magnolia. FREE
Seattle Public Library is sponsoring this fun ‘Make Your Own Robot’ event. Head to the Magnolia Farmers Market and turn bottle caps, boxes, fabric and more into the robot or rocket of your dreams. If you can dream it, you can build it. Great for ages 4-12.
