St. Patrick's Day Parade & Festival, Roberto the Magnificent, 'Calculus: The Musical!' and more!

 

St. Patrick’s Day Parade & Irish Festival Sat/Sun March 11/12.
There’s a bit o’green in everyone, so start St. Patrick’s Day celebrations a little early with a fun Irish parade down 4th Ave Saturday at 12:30 p.m. followed by two days of Irish dancing, music, arts, crafts and cultural displays at the Seattle Center Armory. (Lower Queen Anne & Seattle Center). 

Pied Piper presents Roberto the Magnificent Sat Mar 11 10:30-11:30 a.m. Mt. Baker Community Club
It’s a morning of crazy comedy, super stunts, and masterful magic Roberto the Magnificent at the Mt. Baker Community Club. Audience participation is encouraged. $3 per person. 

Free Family Weekend Walks Sat Mar 11 1-2:30 p.m. FREE Graham Visitors Center
Dress for walking and the weather, and bring the whole family to the Washington Park Arboretum for a fun 90-min. themed afternoon. We will stop throughout the stroll for games, hands-on activities and learning geared toward children and their caregivers. This weekend, the topic is Nature Investigations! Walks take place every Saturday through March 25. Meet on the parking lot side of the Graham Visitors Center. 

Math Theatre presents Calculus: The Musical! & Tesla Ex Machina 6-9 p.m. Sat Mar 11 Bellevue College Cafeteria
It’s the 10th year for MathTheatre, a touring performing arts organization that specializes in math and science-based programming. Enjoy Calculus: The Musical!, a comic "review" of the concepts and history of Calculus, and the original one-man play Tesla Ex Machina, a biographical exploration of the life and inventions of Nikola Tesla. FYI – the Tesla show will feature live physics demonstrations. $10.

Youth Theater teenaged actors present this original work developed over three months. The cast explored, worked and wrote a unique story centered around key issues relevant to them. Come and enjoy this comic, current and poignant piece. Show runs through March 26. $10 to $17.

Artventure: You, Me, We Sun Mar 12 1-3:30 p.m. Henry Art Gallery at UW. FREE
ArtVentures, held the second Sunday of every month, is an opportunity for families to play, learn and create together. This Sunday, join guest artist Carina A. del Rosario, and explore how to make new connections with neighbors. We’ll we snap photos of each other using techniques inspired by artist Chuck Close then reassemble the results into a giant collage portrait.
