Bremerton Blackberry Festival, Big Backyard Campout, Sea Turtle Race, and more!

 

Bremerton Blackberry Festival Sat Sept 2, 10 a.m.-7 p.m., Sun Sept 3, 10 a.m.-6 p.m., Mon Sept 4, 10 a.m.-5 p.m.  Bremerton Boardwalk. FREE
Wrap up the summer with a trip to Bremerton for a weekend of juicy blackberry fun.  Browse vendors, take part in a fun run, wander a car show and watch the Fly-In at Bremerton National Airport. Chalk art contest, kids' entertainment, and amazing food, too. Shuttle available from Olympic College.

Big Backyard Campout Sat Sept 2, 6 p.m.-Sun Sept 3, 9:30 a.m. Newcastle Beach Park
Get your songs ready for a campout with family and friends at Newcastle Beach Park. A delicious dinner, breakfast, and campfire treats are included. Limited camping gear available upon request. Ages 2 and older. $25, $5 kids ages 4 and younger. 

Junior Ranger Program, Amazing Animals Sat Sept 2, 1:30-2:15 p.m. Lake Sammamish State Park
Join park staff at Sunset Beach Bathhouse and learn about the amazing animals around Lake Sammamish State Park in a family focused junior ranger program. Dress for the weather and expect to be outside for the duration of the program. Programs last 30-45 minutes and are recommended for children of all ages with adult(s). Discover Pass required to enter the park ($10-$30). 

Juanita Bay Park Ranger Walk Sun Sept 3, 1-2 p.m. Juanita Bay Park, Kirkland. FREE
Learn about songbirds, waterfowl, raptors, shorebirds, amphibians, turtles, beavers and other small mammals during a family-friendly nature walk led by an Eastside Audubon Ranger. Tours start in the parking lot at 1 p.m., rain or shine. BYO binoculars if you have them.

Sea Turtle Race Sun Sept 3. 2:30-3:30 p.m. Lewis Creek Park Visitor Center. FREE
Kids ages 5 to 10 can learn all about leatherback sea turtles with fun games and activities.

Top Ten Toys Juggling Club Mon Sept 4, 7-8 p.m. Greenwood. FREE
How many balls can you keep in the air? From beginner to pro, all juggling skills are welcome at Top Ten Toys.
