It’s all things Scandinavian this weekend at The Nordic Heritage Museum as they transform their space into a Viking marketplace. Come enjoy a Swedish pancake breakfast in the morning and a salmon dinner in the afternoon. There will be Scandinavian entertainment and demonstrations of weaving, weapon forgery, arts & crafts and more. Admission is free, but bring $ for food and incidentals. Climb aboard the UW Research Vessel, Clifford A Barnes, see dozens of fish specimens, tour the Burke’s ichthyology collection and check out the UW Oceanography’s tide models. You’ll also have a chance to see Seagliders, watch the maiden voyage of a traditional open-boat from Alaska, do fun arts & crafts and more. Fun Run and Sandcastle Contest, Sun Aug 21 7:30 a.m. – 2 p.m. Richmond Beach Saltwater Park. FREE
