Memorial Day Weekend Steam Trains, Sat/Sun/Mon May 28/29/30, 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. Snoqualmie Depot. All aboard a 2-hour steam powered trip thru the upper Snoqualmie Valley. Each excursion includes a stop to explore the Train Shed Exhibit Building. Bicycle Sundays, Sun May 29, 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. Lake Washington Blvd. FREE. Scoot, walk, bike, glide, run and more along the four-mile stretch between Mt. Baker Beach and Seward Park while it's closed to motorized traffic. Event occurs most Sundays thru September. Bicycle Sundays.
Canoe Mercer Slough, Sat/Sun May 28/29, 8:30 a.m. – 12 p.m. Enatai Beach Park, Bellevue. Kids 5 and up with an adult can join a 4-mile guided paddle to explore the plants and wildlife in the slough. Kids under 35 lbs must bring a Coast Guard-approved life jacket. $16-18. Canoe Mercer Slough. Pre-register.
Children's Day (Kokomo no Hi), Mon May 30, 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. Seattle Japanese Garden. Come celebrate Children's Day on Monday with origami crafts, Japanese storytelling, scavenger hunts and more.
