Wetland Waddlers

Mercer Slough Environmental Education Center, Bellevue

Calling all preschoolers and their caregivers. Come explore the Mercer Slough thru art, play and story time. Every month has a different theme and this month is all about Growing Up in Mercer Slough. Be sure to check out the complete schedule online. Pre-register. $20.

 

Earth Day Celebration
Saturday, Apr 21 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Magnuson Children’s Garden

BYO gloves or borrow some there and help the Children’s Garden get prepped for Spring. Dig into nature projects, garden and weed, and then take part in a fun art and nature craft. Bring a cloth or vinyl shopping bag from home for the activity. FREE.

Seattle Cherry Blossom & Japanese Festival
Saturday and Sunday, Apr 21 and 22
10 a.m. – 6 p.m.
Seattle Center Armory and Fisher Pavillion

Experience Japanese culture through two days of events, artisan demonstrations, hands-on activities, Japanese games, Taiko drumming performances, delicious food, a traditional marketplace and more. FREE.

 

Circuit Club
Saturday, Apr 21 11 a.m. – 1 p.m.
Bellevue Library

Kids in grades 5 to 12 can learn all about circuits at drop-in maker stations at the Bellevue Library this Saturday. Come learn and build a fun electronic project. Space is limited, first come, first seated. FREE.

 

Park in the Dark Night Hike
Saturday, Apr 21 7:30 – 9 p.m.
Washington Park Arboretum

There are plenty of nocturnal and crepuscular creatures active at the arboretum every night. Join our local specialist take a hike to listen and look for them. Great for families with children ages 5 to 12, although all ages are welcome. Pre-register, wear good walking shoes and meet at the Graham Visitors Center. $15 per child, $5 each additional child.

 

StoryBook Theater: Rapunzel
Saturday and Sunday, Apr 21 and 22 11 a.m., 1 p.m., and 3 p.m.
Renton Carco Theatre

StoryBook Theater brings a live-action musical version of this classic tale to stage this weekend thru May 20th. Kids 3 and older will love the songs and action, and adults will love the hair-raising twists the tale takes. Sensory friendly performances available, see schedule online. $15.
