Great Figgy Pudding Street Corner Caroling Competition Fri Dec 1, 6-8:30 p.m. Pine St between 4th Ave and 7th Ave. FREE
Bundle up and head downtown for an evening of holiday cheer as dozens of caroling teams warble away for a chance to sing on the Figgy Main Stage. Teams will sing on downtown Seattle street corners beginning at 6 p.m. competing for crowd favor and prizes for the most donations raised, best choral performance, most creative team and people’s choice. Those nominated will compete in a sing-off at Westlake Center. Donations benefit Pike Market Senior Center & Food Bank.
Issaquah Reindeer Festival Sat/Sun Dec 2/3, 10:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Cougar Mountain Zoo
They are resting up for their big night, but you can still meet Santa, his elves and his very own reindeer. Head to Cougar Mountain Zoo and enjoy story time with an elf, watch candy canes being made, get your face painted and more. All proceeds support Santa’s Reindeer for the coming year. Event included with admission and runs daily through Dec. 23. $14.50, $12.50 seniors, $10.50 ages 2 to 12, free younger than age 2.

It’s the 25th anniversary of this amazing tradition as Seattle architectural firms, trade associations and Sheraton Seattle culinary staff team up to design, bake and build fantastic gingerbread creations. Come explore the theme: A Celebration of Seattle, open daily through Jan. 1 at their new location at City Centre. Donations accepted for Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
