MoPop reopens! Mini paint kits and Bingo and fossils, too.

In a year full of hardships, isolation, and uncertainty, pop culture has been a welcome respite. Now, you can experience pop culture from somewhere other than your couch, because MoPOP is re-reopening its doors! Museum capacity will be reduced, guests 3 and older will be required to wear a mask and practice social distancing, and tickets for specific times must be purchased in advance. Kids 4 and younger are admitted free. Tickets $21 to $30.

Join Painting with a Twist and The Outlet Collection for a fun artist painting demonstration plus grab and go style event this Saturday. There are three different free mini paint kits to choose from. Be sure to pre-register online.

Play a fun, family-friendly game of Online Bingo this weekend! Games take place every Saturday at 1 p.m. It’s all for fun, and sometimes a little charity. Prizes include ceramic to-go kits, Crossroads Bellevue gift certificates, and fun prizes from other Crossroads Bellevue businesses. You can pick up your winnings in studio or we can donate them for you.

This monthā€™s books all have wings: a picture biography of Emily Dickinson, a story about a girl who loves dragonflies, and an illustrated insect life cycle in rhyme. Join this fun story time and hear A WAY WITH WILD THINGS by Larissa Theule, ON WINGS OF WORDS by Jennifer Berne, and SOAR HIGH, DRAGONFLY by Sheri Mabry Bestor. Each month we will feature stories and activities that celebrate gardens, plants, and nature.

Paleontology at the Burke with KCLS (Virtual)

Great for kids ages 7 to 14 with an adult. Go behind the scenes (from home) with a Paleontology Fossil Lab Manager to learn how fossils are prepared for study in the wet lab. Take a journey through time in the Fossils Uncovered gallery and visit the Experience Alcove to learn more about rocks and fossils with an exciting activity. Once you have registered, you will receive an email with instructions for how to access the site.
