Make the most of your weekend with healthy kids and social justice workshops, a donut dash, sheep shearing, or a family rock concert.

Seattle World School

Join the movement at this annual youth-led social justice conference at the Seattle World School. It’s a day of workshops, art and performances by youth under age 21 including spoken word, art exhibits, conversation, activities and more. Come make connections and find out about services at the Resource Fair. Free for ages 20 and younger; suggested donation of $25 for ages 21 and older. Pre-register.

Healthy Kids Day

Get out and get moving at YMCA’s annual Healthy Kids Day. Ten of the greater Seattle YMCA locations will be offering free family-friendly activities, events and prizes! Come join the national initiative to improve the health and well-being of kids and check out STEM stops, fire truck exploration, get a new bike helmet, and more. Seattle Cherry Blossom & Japanese Festival

Learn about and celebrate Japanese culture during a weekend of Taiko drumming performances, artisan demonstrations, hands-on activities and games, dances, food, a marketplace and more at the Seattle Center. 

Sheep Shearing

Sat., April 27, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Kelsey Creek Farm

Surely sheep will be sheared this Saturday at Kelsey Creek Farm. Come check out shearing and spinning demonstrations, children’s crafts and activities, tractor and wagon rides, pony rides, food and more. FREE but there are nominal fees for activities (cash only, no ATM on site). Shuttles from Wilburton Park & Ride and Bannerwood Sports Park.

Top Pot Doughnut Dash

Sun., April 28, 8:30 a.m.
Green Lake Community Center

Run 3 miles, get a doughnut! It’s the best kind of fun run. Lace up those shoes and head to the Green Lake Community Center on Sunday for a little exercise and a 1K kids’ dash (ages 12 and younger). Event benefits Childhaven. Registration at 7, 5K at 8:30, Kids' Dash at 9:30, Caspar Babypants concert at 10 a.m. $35 to $45, $15 kids' dash.

Rock and Roll Playhouse: The Music of The Beatles for Kids

Sun, April 28, 11:30 to 12:30 p.m.
The Showbox

Sing along to some of the songs created by the most iconic musicians in rock history this Sunday. The Rock and Roll Playhouse family concerts bridge the gap between the music you love and what your children love plus there will be fun games, movement, and an opportunity to rock out. $15. Children younger than age 1 are free. Doors open at 11:00 a.m.
