Home Depot’s monthly free kids workshop has kids make a special valentine. They learn handy skills like sanding, nailing and painting, and take home their final product, a certificate of achievement and one of those cute orange aprons. Children must be accompanied by caregiver.

The Paramount Theatre Tour Sat, Feb 1 10-11:30 a.m. Paramount Theatre. FREE

The Paramount Theatre opened in 1928 as the Seattle Theatre. Come learn all about this amazing historical landmark on a free monthly tour. Meet in front of the main entrance of the theatre – on the corner of Ninth and Pine – by 10 a.m. Tours last approximately 90 minutes; best for ages 7 and older. 

 

"You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown" Sat, Feb 1 2:30 p.m. Studio East. Tickets $15-20, infants 12 months and younger are free on lap.

Experience a day in the life of Charlie Brown and the rest of the Peanuts Gang as they ride the roller coaster of life, with all of its ups and downs. Studio East brings this classic comic strip to life on stage with the clever, heart-warming and hilarious wisdom of your favorite Peanuts characters. 

 

Winter Fireside Storytime: Garter Snakes Sat, Feb 1 1:30 p.m.  Cedar River Watershed Education Center. FREE

Hear one of our wonderful naturalists read a story by the cozy fireplace about a wild animal or nature theme that represents the watershed. Then spend a little time coloring afterwards. ADA accessible, and all ages welcome. Please pre-register. 

 

Lake Hills Greenbelt Ranger Walk Sat, Feb 1 2 p.m. Bellevue. FREE

Bring the whole family to the Lake Hills Greenbelt Ranger Station for a 1-mile ranger-led walk this Saturday to explore this season’s myriad of flora and fauna. Wear your favorite weather-appropriate clothing and shoes, and byo binoculars or magnifying glasses. Afterwards, continue on to the Larsen Lake trail loop and use your newfound knowledge to explore. Event occurs rain or shine.

 

Fiddler on the Roof Jr Sat, Feb 1 Stroum Jewish Community Center. Tickets $17 for adults, $15 for students and seniors.

Enjoy a special adaptation of the nine-time Tony Award-winning Broadway musical following Tevye the milkman as he tries to protect his daughters and his way of life from a changing world. With the help of a colorful and tight-knit Jewish community in the little village of Anatevka, Tevye tries to marry off his daughters and instill in them a sense of tradition in the face of growing anti-Semitism in Czarist Russia.
