Bird Fest
Sat, Feb 16 10 a.m.- 2 p.m.
Burien Community Ctr FREE

Learn how you can help take a real-time snapshot of bird populations in your own back yard. Join Environmental Science Center naturalists, Seattle Audubon Young Birders, and fellow environmental organizations to discover how to identify local birds through bird-friendly activities, hourly walks and counts and identification games. You’ll also have a chance to touch bird skins and mounts, dissect owl pellets, craft a pair of binoculars and more.

 

Dungeons & Dragons for Kids
Feb. 16 12-3 p.m.
Mox Boarding House

Go on an epic quest with a Dungeons and Dragons gaming session for kids 8-16 and parents! Mox Boarding House in Ballard is where the fun is. They’ll provide the materials, no experience necessary.

 

Sparkle Fairy’s School for Formerly Vile Villains
Sat/Sun, Feb 16/17 1 & 3 p.m.
Second Story Repertory

Who is Sparkle Fairy, you ask? Sparkle Fairy is a new hero who gives villains a chance to mend their ways. This year's graduating class includes Captain Hook, Cinderella's stepsisters, The Big Bad Wolf and Snow White's Queen. Head to Second Story Repertory for a entertaining and creative show perfect for grade school-aged children. All-ages family shows on Sundays. Show runs weekends through March 9.

 

X-Treme International Ice Racing
Sat, Feb 16 7:30 p.m.
Angel of the Winds Arena

Because we know you haven’t had enough snow and ice this winter, you need to head to Everett to watch some fast and furious specially equipped motorcycles and ATVs race on an oval ice track.  $10-$30.

 

SoundOff Youth Band Competition
Sat, Feb. 16, 7:30 p.m.

Support your local bands and come watch MoPOP’s premier 21-and-under music showcase. Artists from all backgrounds will compete for a chance to rise to the next level.  The winning band from each semifinal round will progress to finals on Saturday, March 2, which will be broadcast live on KEXP's Audioasis. $14, $10 ages 5 to 17, $5 TeenTix pass holders.
