Santa Train, a kugel-making workshop, holiday lights and more

Santa Train

Nov 28/29 9 a.m. –  4 p.m. Snoqualmie Depot, $24 per person ages 2 and older.

Experience this unique holiday tradition that has been going on in Snoqualmie for over 50 years. For four weekends, starting November 28, families can take a holiday train excursion aboard Santa Train to visit Santa Claus at the historic Snoqualmie Depot. Children and their families will enjoy music, fresh-baked cookies from coal-fired ovens, hot cocoa and fresh coffee, and a small gift for each child. Various departure times throughout the day. Seattle Festival of Trees Window Display

Nov 28/29 9 a.m. – 7 p.m.  Fairmont Olympic Hotel. FREE

Fairmont Olympic is celebrating the holidays a little differently this year. They have transformed their annual in-person holiday Festival of Trees into a display of trees inside the hotel windows viewable from the sidewalk along 4th Avenue. The decorated trees will honor the heroic young patients from Seattle Children’s Hospital. In addition, one of the windows will display a miniature Gingerbread Olympic House.

 

KCLS Online Program: Cook and Chat for Teens

Sat, Nov 28 2-4 p.m. FREE

Calling all tweens and teens, ages 12 to 18! Join KCLS for a series of baking and cooking classes with teen volunteers. This Saturday, learn to make delicious Sweet Kugel! Bring your friends (virtually) and make a wonderful treat for the holiday weekend.

 

Nutcracker Series for Young Children with Emerald City Ballet (Virtual)

Sat Nov 28. 10-11 a.m. FREE

Join this exciting “Exploring the Nutcracker” Series for Young Children on Facebook Live. You’ll get a closer look at Nutcracker characters, choreography, costumes, music and more. And come prepared to dance because these fun classes are interactive and designed for ages 2-10. No dance experience or registration required. This weekend Emerald City Ballet will be exploring the Land of Sweets!

Erika's weekend picks: christmas light display in stanwood

The Lights of Christmas at Warm Beach

Sat/Sun Nov 28/29, 5-10 p.m. $20-25 per vehicle.

Pack the family in your car and drive thru this beautiful Christmas wonderland in Stanwood, WA. Experience over a million lights, beautiful displays, wave to costume characters, enjoy yummy snacks, and more! Due to the modified pandemic format, admission must be purchased online before arriving at the event. Be sure to bring your confirmation when you arrive. Display will be open through Dec 30th.
