Festivals that celebrate food and the sea, a frog hop with a park ranger, a lantern parade, and Elephant & Piggie.

1. St Demetrios Greek Festival

Friday through Sunday, Sept. 20-22

Opa! It’s time once again for this fun, Greek Seattle weekend. Head to St. Demetrios for a weekend of Greek music, lively Greek folk dancing, delicious Greek food, an eclectic Greek marketplace, a fun Greek kids’ area and much, more.

 

2. Bellingham Sea Fest

Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 21-22
10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Bellingham SeaFeast is an annual two-day seafood and waterfront festival in Downtown Bellingham, Squalicum Harbor & Zuanich Point Park. Head North for a fun weekend of boat tours, seafood tasting, live music and more. General admission is free, however, some activities require tickets.

 

3. Fisherman’s Fall Festival

Saturday, Sept. 21
11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Celebrate our talented and resilient local fishing fleet with a day of fun at Fisherman’s Terminal. Live music, amazing children’s activities, fun, fishing industry-related exhibits, exciting competitions, a salmon bake and more.

 

4. Ranger Program: Fall for Frogs

Saturday, Sept. 21
2 to 3 p.m.
Mercer Slough

Have you ever wondered how frogs stop and start their singing in unison? Hop on over to the Mercer Slough to discover more about our frogs thriving in the wetland. These musical amphibians play an intricate role in the food web and help keep our ecosystems in balance. Enjoy fun activities, crafts and a nature walk. Great for children 5-10 yrs old. 5. Luminata Lantern Parade

Saturday, Sept. 21
6 to 10 p.m.
South shore of Green Lake Park
FREE

BYO lanterns, glowing umbrellas, luminous costumes and other brilliant creations and celebrate the autumnal equinox by joining a parade at Green Lake. The event begins with a ceremony at the Aqua Theater at the south shores of Green Lake. Free to attend; donations encouraged.

 

6. Elephant & Piggie’s “We are in a Play”

Sunday, Sept. 22
3 p.m.
Second Story Repertory

An elephant named Gerald and a pig named Piggie are best, best, "bestus" (a word Gerald and Piggie made up that means "very best") friends, but Gerald is a worrier and Piggie is not. What happens when they are both invited to a party hosted by the Squirrelles, three singing squirrels that love to have a good time? Come and find out. Based on the books by Mo Willems. $10.
