Families Like Ours is Now Located Downtown

After 11 years of helping local families, Families Like Ours recently moved into new office space in the Lloyd building, located at 603 Stewart St. in Seattle. The move will allow for added resources for volunteers and team members. Families Like Ours is an adoption exchange and is a key advocacy group for gay as well as straight families hoping to adopt. The non-profit was created to:

  • serve as an independent national Adoption Exchange, that means we work with all families and professionals, in all states.

  • strongly advocate for all pre & post adoptive and foster families and youth, GLBT and non-GLBT alike

  • operate as a peer-to-peer, volunteer network of families and professionals that share the same goal

  • creatively break down placement barriers for kids, families and professionals

The move supports the growth the organization has seen in the last two years, with more families and youth relying on its services. Families Like Ours has built a strong and active peer-to-peer support system for Northwest families seeking to adopt, or foster youth in the foster care system.
