Teachers are invited to experience a free science sampler at Pacific Science Center's Educator Open House on Saturday, Oct. 2. This event includes admission to current exhibits, laser shows, IMAXR films, the Willard Smith Planetarium, Tropical Butterfly House and more. All teaching staff are welcome and may bring up to three guests (school ID is required). Check-in starts at 8:30 a.m. and concludes at 11:30 a.m. Light refreshments will be available until 10 a.m.
The purpose of the event is to give educators an opportunity to learn about the Science Center's offerings now as well as scheduled in the coming months, and to share engaging and fun science activities with them. Educators will get a first peek at the newest traveling exhibit, Mindbender Mansion, with puzzles, brainteasers and interactive challenges that feature math and problem solving. They will also have a chance to learn more about the new permanent exhibit, Science On a Sphere.
Guests should enter through Pacific Science Center's Seattle Rotary Discovery Lab entrance at Second Avenue North and John Street. For more information, visit http://www.pacificsciencecenter.org/ or call 206-443-2925.
