Free Family and Educator Day Celebrating the Arts

Celebrate the beginning of the school year with The Sky's the Limit: Family and Educator Day at the Frye Art Museum on Saturday, Sept. 21, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Get kids of all ages engaged in art-making activities, live music and a movie focused on themes of conservation and community. This free event culminates in a tree planting ceremony.

Tour the Frye Art galleries, dance to live music by the Brian Waite Band, take part in craft and art-making activities, enjoy storytelling hour and contribute to a time capsule that will be buried when Seattle artist Buster Simpson and students from Sammamish High School plant a tree at the Frye. Educators will receive take-home lesson plans and should RSVP by Sept. 16 to education@fryemuseum.org (clock hours are available through Seattle Pacific University).

Work on creative and fun arts activities and learn how to help foster a community where teachers and parents work together to enrich children through the arts. The Frye Art Museum is located at 704 Terry Ave. in Seattle. For the full line-up of activities for the day, visit www.fryemuseum.org.
