Come dance and party at the Families of Color Seattle Arts Fest on Saturday, April 30 at Nectar Lounge in Fremont. The concert showcase will feature premier Seattle performing artists in genres including Afrofuturism, hip-hop, reggae, R&B, traditional and modern dance, West African, soul and Brazilian.
Performers include: SassyBlack of THEESatisfaction , Pak of Kore Ionz , Justo of The Physics & Geologic of Blue Scholars, Otieno Terry, Anna Banana Freeze of Massive Monkees, The CRUW, Afua Kouyate & Aboubacar Boka and Thaddeus Turner and DJ Daps1. There will also be food and drink (complimentary and for purchase Vietnamese and Filipino tasty options and no-host bar), an art station and more family fun.
The event is a fundraiser to benefit Families of Color Seattle (FOCS), a non-profit organization led by mothers of color, whose mission is to build a strong community supporting families of color through parenting programs, resource sharing and fostering meaningful connections.
Since its founding in 2013, FOCS has brought together more than 1,000 families into an intercultural and interethnic community.
